Overview
Cadillac, one of the most prestigious automaker owned by General Motors, has revised and expanded its line-up to attract a new, younger generation of clientele and has been quite successful in this task. The Cadillac CTS-V was introduced in 2004 to compete with the BMW M3, M5, Mercedes- Benz C55 AMG and E55 AMG. Now, Cadillac takes the next leap forward by introducing the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, the brand's ultimate expression of performance and luxury. It is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of this year.
Power and Performance
The 2009 Cadillac CTS-V has a new 6.2-liter LSA supercharged V-8 engine that delivers an estimated 550 horsepower. The transmission choices include either a six-speed manual or an exclusive six-speed automatic with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. It is the first automatic offered on the CTS-V. It also includes a comprehensive suite of technical and design enhancements, including Magnetic Ride Control and an industry-first Performance Traction Management program.
Body and Styling
The exterior of the new 2009 Cadillac CTS-V amplifies the assertive stance of this model. The dihedral Cadillac grille is larger to enable more air intake and features a satin finish. The raised hood encompasses the supercharged engine, and new front and rear fascias identify the vehicle as a part of the V-Series. The car's 19-inch wheels enhance its stance and ride on road.

The 2009 CTS-V includes all the elements of the CTS sport sedan's well-received cabin, while adding some elegant and purposeful accents. It offers Recaro performance driving seats, providing excellent support for spirited driving and adding to the luxurious and purposeful interior. These new, 14-way adjustable performance seats include pneumatic bolster controls in the seat cushion and backrest.
Safety Features
Like other CTS models, the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V comes standard with dual front air bags, driver and front passenger seat-mounted side-impact air bags, and front-to-rear head curtain side-impact air bags, traction control, 4-wheel disc with 4-channel anti-lock brakes, and optional performance traction management.
