Overview

The makers of America's number one homegrown luxury car brand chose Pebble Beach in California to unveil the 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon. The setting could not have been more appropriate, for the Sport Wagon has all the qualities one can associate with the sea energy, magnetism, beauty, and sprightliness. Pitted as a meaningful and luxurious alternative to larger vehicles, the 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon will hit dealerships in the fall of 2009. Cadillac also has plans to make a foray into the international market with this vehicle.

Powertrain And Performance

The 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon's engine has direct fuel injection technology, which helps keep emissions down, while also increasing fuel efficiency. This Wagon rides on a 3.6-liter V6 VVT engine, which pumps out 250 horsepower. Transmission choices include an Aisin six-speed manual or an electronically controlled Hydra-Matic 6L50 six-speed automatic. Like the Sport Sedan, the Wagon too comes with an optional all-wheel drive.

Build And Styling

The 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon suggests everything that the manufacturer has in mind, and is thus a smaller vehicle than the other body types of this model. Yet, it is given generous cargo space of 25 cu-ft. This is in line with Cadillac's philosophy of providing users with a wagon that is sleek, but also spacious. The interiors have available features such as a pop-up navigation screen, a hand-cut-and-sewn interior with Sapele wood accents, and a 40-gigabyte internal hard drive. Some of the highlights on the exterior of the 2010 CTS Wagon are new 19-inch wheels; large, vertical tail lamps with light-pipe technology; power-opening liftgate (via key fob or in-vehicle button); integrated roof load management system with cross bars for a seamless appearance; CHMSL integrated in subtle roof spoiler; cargo management system with adjustable in-floor containment; and a large optional panoramic rear sunroof.

Safety Features

StabiliTrak, which is an electronic chassis control system which integrates the standard four-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) with a full-function traction control system, engine drag control system, and hydraulic brake assist to ensure better grip on road surfaces, is one of the chief safety features on the 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon. It also comes with a four-wheel disc brake and a tower-to-tower brace under the hood.
