Overview
The 2010 Cadillac STS is a luxury sport Sedan featuring handsome, contemporary styling with tight build quality and impressive high-performance. The Sedan received a significant refresh for the 2008 model year with revised styling (including ubiquitous chrome fender vents), a more luxuriously trimmed interior, and several high-tech safety and performance options. It comes with Bluetooth capability for non-navigation-equipped cars. This large luxury sport sedan comes with V6 and V8 engine models. The posh STS Platinum and Supercharged STS-V are also available. Updates for 2010 include two new exterior colors.
Powertrain And Performance
The 2010 Cadillac STS V6 is powered by a 3.6L Direct Injection V6 VVT engine that churns out 302-horsepower. The STS V8 gets a 4.6-liter engine which is good for 320 horsepower. A rear-wheel drive system; a Hydra-Matic 6L50-E 6-speed automatic transmission with performance shifting and driver shift control; and a StabiliTrac computer-controlled 4-channel electronic stability control system are standard on both the engines. An all-wheel drive configuration is optional for both. The STS-V comes equipped with a supercharged 4.4L Northstar V8 SC delivering 469 horsepower.
Build And Styling
The Cadillac STS sedan received a dramatic restyling for 2008 and the 2010 model retains the same. It features a prominent bumper, a bold grille, stacked headlights and fog lights, as well as ubiquitous chrome fender vents.
Standard features on the STS V6 and V8 include 17-inch wheels; wood and alloy interior trimmings; leather seating; eight-way power front seats; remote keyless entry and vehicle start; dual-zone automatic climate control; Bluetooth connectivity; satellite radio; an eight-speaker Bose sound system; and OnStar. The V8 model gets extra features like a CD changer; memory seating presets; heated front and rear seats; a heated steering wheel; and rain-sensing wipers. The Cadillac STS V6 Platinum adds 18-inch chrome aluminum wheels; unique grille finish; leather-wrapped interior trimmings; and olive ash wood with saddle stain.
Safety Features
Front and side air bags; anti-lock disc brake system; and stability control are standard on the 2010 Cadillac STS. A lane-departure warning and blind-spot alert systems is optional, so are an Intelli-beam headlamps that self-adjust their intensity based on oncoming or leading vehicles.
